Safari Coffee Roasters. Since 1990

The Pacific

Indonesia once was the biggest exporter of coffee but today is the fourth largest producer of coffee in the world and started up when some trees where shipped west from India. Exports began in 1711 controlled by the East Dutch India Company. They are typically semi-washed which helps to produce profiles heavy of body and low in acidity.

Coffees from Sumatra are known for their rich earthy profiles. My personal favorite however is Celebes Kalossi which was the bean that started my adventure in the coffee trade....so rich and delicious. If you want to explore something really fun and unique give Indian Malabar a go. It's very lightly toasted and nutty. A nice change of pace.

Indian Monsooned Malabar

Indian Monsooned Malabar is one of a kind for it's unique dry processing void of almost all mositure that other coffees still hold. The beans swell and lose their acidity after they are harvested because of exposure to the monsoon rains and winds. The result is a highly nutty, spicy cup that brews light and mild. You also might enjoy Cowboy Coffee too.

The difference between the coffee in Bali and in the rest in Indonesia is the processing method. Bali coffee is processed with the "wet" method. The wet processing means that the fruit covering the coffee bean is...
